Actress Maia Campbell Needs Help!!!

Actress Maia Campbell, who starred in the sitcom "In The House" alonside LL Cool J, is reportedly hooked on drugs. Word on the net is that there will be a porno tape released of her in January of 2007. It's being reported that she is allowing herself to be taped in exchange for drugs.

I hope she can get some help. Her mother, celebrated author Bebe Moore Campbell, died earlier this year.

Mike Tyson In Trouble Again!!!

Mike Tyson was arrested early Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine after police stopped him shortly after he left a Scottsdale nightclub.

He showed signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests," said Hall, a member of the Buckeye Police Department who was working in the area as part of a holiday DUI task force.

Why would they take his mugshot with his tongue hanging out of his mouth like that????? That's just ludacrisp!!!!!

NEW YORK - A white, horse-drawn carriage carried the body of music legend James Brown through the streets of Harlem on Thursday to the Apollo Theater, where a sea of people waited to say farewell to the "Godfather of Soul."

Friends and fans walked behind the caisson in the street, singing the chorus of Brown's anthem, "Say it Loud _ I'm Black and I'm Proud."

Just like when Brown was alive, the raucous throng of thousands cheered and applauded as pallbearers lifted his gold casket and carried it inside, for Brown, who died of heart failure Christmas morning, to lie in repose on the stage where he made his 1956 debut.

As New Yorker Norman Brand waited for the procession to arrive, the 55-year-old recalled hearing Brown's anthem for the first time in his native Alabama.

"It really changed the attitude of most black people. It was like a wake up call. Before that, if you were called black, it was like an insult," Brand said. "Just one song and one word can change a whole situation."

The Rev. Al Sharpton, Brown's close friend, raced through the night in a van with the late singer's casket, arriving in New York about three hours late a day after leaving Georgia, where the 73-year-old singer died. Logistical problems had made it impossible to catch a flight, he said.

"He was a superstar for common people, and I wanted to make sure that common people got to see him one last time," Sharpton said late Wednesday. "It's going to be a royal day in Harlem."

As the carriage rolled toward the Apollo shortly after noon on Thursday, Sharpton walked behind it. A private ceremony was planned for Brown at a church near Augusta, Ga., his boyhood hometown, and another public viewing was scheduled Saturday at Augusta's James Brown Arena.

Outside the Apollo, fans began lining up shortly after midnight for the chance to say goodbye to a man whose hits like "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)" left an indelible mark on soul, R&B, funk, disco and rap music.

The Apollo became famous for launching the careers of performers such as Brown, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, and as a showcase for superstars Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and a young Michael Jackson.

It had been used for public viewings several times before, but always for employees.

On Thursday, the marquee outside read: "Rest in Peace Apollo Legend The Godfather of Soul James Brown, 1933-2006," and Brown's epic "Live at the Apollo" album streamed from the marquee speakers.

"He seemed like family, a friend of mine," said New Yorker Brenda Harper, who was the first to arrive at the Apollo early Thursday.

She recalled seeing Brown in concert 14 years earlier. "I jumped on the stage and he danced with me. I danced with the 'Godfather' that day," she said.

Edith Stewart flew to New York from Atlanta for the Apollo Theater viewing.

"I loved James Brown. He did a lot of things for people all over. Just a couple of days ago, in Augusta, he was passing out gifts. And then he's gone," she said.

Brown continued to work to the end, dying less than a week before he was to perform New Year's Eve in Manhattan at B.B. King's blues club. Chaka Khan, the Grammy Award-winning rhythm and blues performer, will play instead.

Spike Lee To Do James Brown Movie

Dec. 27, 2006 – Director Spike Lee has signed a deal to shoot a movie about James Brown, who died Christmas day of a heart attack at age 73. The authorized project is being developed for Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures, by Brian Grazer, the Oscar-winning producer of "A Beautiful Mind," according to entertainment trade publication Variety. Kudos to Spike for honoring James Brown. I wonder who will get the part to play him????? I think Eddie Murphy would do a great job, considering how he used to imitate James on Saturday Night Live.

"Godfather of Soul" James Brown , passed away on Christmas morning!

The 73-year-old pompadoured dynamo, whose classic singles include "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)," died of heart failure less than two days after he had been hospitalized with pneumonia and only three days after leading his annual holiday toy giveaway in Augusta.

He will truly be missed!

Diddy & Kim Porter's Twin Girls Born Today!!!

Posted Dec. 21, 2006) A source close to the family confirms exclusively to Essence that the stork made two deliveries to hip-hop impresario Sean "Diddy" Combs and his long-time girlfriend Kim Porter. Porter, 36, at Mt. Sinai hospital in New York City early thursday morning.

The couple delivered a set of twin baby girls, one weighing in at 5 lbs. and the other 5 lbs., 4 oz.

This afternoon Sean's publicist Robert Zimmerman, of Dan Klores Communications, announced: "Diddy received an early Christmas gift! It gives us great joy to announce the arrival of Diddy's twin girls. The beautiful, healthy baby girls were born this morning with Diddy by mother, Kim Porter's side.

Diddy had a plane on stand by in Toronto where he is filming "Raisin in the Sun" and made it just in the nick of time for the delivery. Both Kim and the girls are doing great."

The couple’s newly-expanded family already includes a son, Christian, as well as Porter’s son, Quincy, from a previous relationship with singer Al B. Sure and Combs’ son, Justin, from a previous relationship with stylist Misa Hylton-Brim

The Houston family came together to record the tune “Family First,” for Perry's new film. The recording marks Whitney's first official release since her drug abuse battle earlier this year (06).

Beyonce was so depressed when her former Destiny’s Child bandmates LeToya Luckettt and LaTavia Roberson quit the group, she spent days in her bedroom refusing to eat. The singer admits the 2000 walk-out came at a very "lonely" time in her life when a longstanding boyfriend also turned his back on her - and she found herself at her lowest. She struggled to speak about her depression because Destiny's Child had just won their first Grammy Award and she feared no one would take her seriously.

She tells America's Parade magazine the break-up of her romance and her band left her questioning who she was and who her friends were - and she felt "attacked" as the media began to turn on her. It was her mother Tina who helped her get through the blues. She told her, "Why do you think a person wouldn't love you? Don't you know how smart and sweet and beautiful you are?"

Golden Globe Nominations Announced

Congrats to Will Smith, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles, and Eddie Murphy! I'm so happy for them all. Golden Globe nods clearly mean Oscar nods as well.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, scheduled for January 15.

Lil Jaden Smith Was Very Upset with His Daddy Will!!!


Will Smith's son Jaden once wrecked his father's plans to throw a huge birthday surprise for his wife, Jada. Jaden found it heartbreaking to lie to his mother. The young actor was left confused and upset by the little white lies his father asked him to tell his mom-in order to keep her birthday celebration a big surprise.

Will recalls, "I'm flying high school friends in, all of that stuff and we made a video for her birthday and she knew nothing about any of this. "The night before, Jaden comes in the room and he's crying and he said, 'I need to talk to you...Why are you making me lie to mommy? "I said, 'Well, what do you mean? and he said, 'Mommy asked me what we're doing tomorrow and I had to tell her a lie.' And I was like, 'Yeah, but that's a lie, right? Daddy, my stomach hurts and I can't sleep. I don't want to lie to my mommy. Can we wake her up? I have to tell her 'cause I'm getting sick.' "I was like, 'Wow, how can you argue with that? He went and told his mommy everything. He's so deeply connected to human emotion."

The Wire On BET in January 2007!!!

BET will air The Wire starting from the 1st season on January 10, 2007. Even though I have the series on discs, I can't wait to see my man, Idris Elba, aka Stringer Bell.

Also, I'm going to need for Alicia Keys to step away from my other man. Sure, they're filming Smokin Aces, an action, comedy, and drama film about a snitch (Jeremy Piven, Entourage) on the run for his life. Common plays “Sir Ivy” and Alicia Keys is playing an assassin out to kill Piven. Smokin Aces will be out in 2007.
